The Leap of Faith
Believing that transformation is possible with a growth mindset
Hebrews 11:6 New International Version (NIV) 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
How about trusting God for a transformation breakthrough?
Since 2016, Gary has been praying for a breakthrough to transit from a leadership role in the Singapore Education Service into the world of business. Meanwhile Angie was beginning to feel restless in her work place with every change the hit her and her industry.
We receive the prompting that 2019 will be the start of our transformation during New Year Eve service at Trinity@Paya Lebar. God had so arranged that we are there because our original home church did not have watchnight service. The various life-changing testimonies, as well as the call of expansion started to take root in our hearts. During the first service on Saturday at Trinity, those faith-inspiring messages turned to how to know the will of God. We took home the last point that if you believe that God exist and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him, you should also trust in Him with all your heart and do what has been laid upon your heart believing He will do the rest.
Gary did not make the first move, but Angie did. An opportunity had sprung up to form a partnership with an experienced preschool educator and she decided that this was more meaningful than running around chasing one change after another. So Angie began her journey as a businesswoman from March while Gary waited till May.
Transformation begins with Mindsets
During the first five months of 2019 we took in many spiritual lessons to lay both spiritual groundwork for Angie and Gary as well as provided many leads which now forms major parts of the business. Gary acted in faith and gave ample notice of four months to his employee so that they would not need any plans for him and he could concentrate on life beyond the civil service. We acted in faith decisively.
The first and most important change in personal transformation is a change in mindset. The five months allowed us the freedom to re-educate mindsets from employee to business owners. Moving from the security of a paid job to having to build something from scratch almost on your own is huge hill to climb. We were, and still are, glad that God led us slowly to navigate each path. He also brought many good folks to support and educate us. So we did not feel so alone or helpless.
God's plan higher than ours
When you trust God to lead you, you must be prepared for surprises.
Over the course of our journey till today, we knew that we would not have been able to pay our bills if not for His divine blessings. More than just a change in mindset, we are learning to trust Him to keep His promises in His Word to us in ways that we could not have imagined before we took the plunge.
We do not know the road ahead but we have a plan. Yet we have seen that His plans are higher and more brilliant than ours. Like His people in the Old Testaments that had to take the first steps before they could see God's blessings, we are learning each day, each week and each month to take new steps so that our faith can grow. So we have begun to see faith as a verb and not as a noun.
Faith can only become Fact when we put them into action. What are you waiting for?
